About NewDeduct

NewDeduct is an independent, advertising-supported website. NewDeduct turns the four new Schedule 1-A deductions created by the 2025 tax law (P.L. 119-21) into transparent calculators, so workers and retirees can see how caps and phase-outs apply before they adjust withholding or file.

What we publish

Five calculators — qualified tips, qualified overtime, car loan interest, the senior deduction and a combined Schedule 1-A estimate — plus guides and a glossary. We do not prepare returns.

How we research

Rules come from IRS newsroom guidance and fact sheets on the new deductions, the final regulations on tipped occupations (Federal Register 2026-07104) and car loan interest (2026-18219), and the CRS summary of 2026 inflation adjustments (RL34498). Each page links its sources. We summarize in our own words. Every figure that comes from a third party is linked at the bottom of the page where it is used, and every page shows when it was last reviewed. If a carrier, retailer or organisation changes its published information, the official source wins over anything on this site.

How the tools work

Arithmetic runs in your browser from figures you enter. Nothing is uploaded. Results are estimates, not a completed Schedule 1-A.

How we make money

NewDeduct shows advertising (Google AdSense) and does not accept payment from insurers, brokers, banks or any company in exchange for coverage in our guides. We do not sell leads, and we do not sell or recommend any specific insurance policy or financial product.
